Ok, friends, here’s the thing. I didn’t get around to doing a full blog post NOT because I procrastinated after getting a British TV streaming channel that features ONLY British murder mysteries set in picturesque little villages with a very alarming crime rate, but because we are planning a very special sale this week! (And also, well, because of the new streaming service. I mean, WHO KNEW there were so many small villages in the UK where murders can only be solved by an affable civilian with zero qualifications or any background, formal education or accreditation of any kind even close to criminology who’s only credentials are “having recently moved to the village from The Big City”.)
The most important thing you need to know about these Poppy Barley flats is that they make a clicking sound when you walk! This is a very important quality in a shoe!
These lovelies have some wear, but who can turn away from a humble pair of Poppy Barley flats?! That click!
This dress from one of our local faves Cinder + Smoke was flying under the radar until I saw a human try it on and then I totally understood it! (I’d even say it’s not coming through on the mannequin, so you’ll have to come in and try it on for yourself!) The stunning thing about this one is that it has a boat neckline, and sits very far across on the shoulders, which takes this dress in a whole other direction. Come to think of it, since we have so much Cinder + Smoke through the shop lately, I think I might be able to apply this blanket statement to all Cinder + Smoke: the way it looks on the hanger is very different from what it looks like on a human, AND it is always more interesting in it’s design when worn. Boom. Insight.
The detail stitching on the bust is also killer, but for me it’s all about that gold threading! And, sure, you can wear it with heels in the evening for a party, or strappy sandals for a distancing wedding, BUT I think you could also wear this one with oxfords as a cute day-look…or even those taupe Poppy Barley flats for a gamine look! LOVE IT!
Oooooo, cute little pottery earrings! I love the condensed detail of pottery here, and that they are stand-alone pieces (and not earrings made of broken pottery… which would be cute too, actually!)
Sorry, friends, that’s all I have time for this week! And it has nothing to do with the fact that we got a loft bed for my youngest daughter but before building it we have to take out her current bed and under her bed are 2 big under-bed storage bins that hold the hand-me-downs from her big sister but also maybe under the to layer of kids clothing the entire bin is actually filled with purses that no one needs to know about and now those purses need a new hiding place -I mean- a new *storage* place because I don’t have to hide my purse addiction from anyone because there is nothing wrong with it and I NEEDED every one of those purses and I WILL, eventually, use them all and I don’t need to be pressured to get rid of them or forced into promising not to buy any more but just to be on the safe side maybe they should be transferred to a place where no one else will find them -like the cleaning closet, ha!- and it’s probably best to do this secretly but it takes time. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT.
Thursday and Saturday this week we are having a sale! A big sale! 20% off everything! Weeeeeeeeeee! Our backroom is PACKED with fall stuff, so we wanted to blow out the whole store so we can start fresh with some of the gorgeous pieces getting ready to come out!
