Friends, I was so excited to share all the cool things that are flowing through the shop these days that I even considered throwing together a random Friday blog last week, but due to my lost my credit card (no word of a lie: I lost it at a Dairy Queen while doing Red Pony deliveries! I put it in my lap instead of my Mom Wallet because I was so excited about how full they made the blizzard, and then it must have fallen onto the street when I hopped out to do a deliver the next parcel) -which I had responsibly cancelled- our television steaming subscription had also been cancelled and I panicked that I would never be able to watch reruns of Friends EVER AGAIN, so I used another credit card to get it back up again and then had to watch, like, 4 seasons of Friends because I was scared it would happen again.
Friends, this top. Just. Arg. This. Right? I’m struggling with saying “This is the coolest thing I have ever seen” because we are getting so many things in these that are The Coolest Thing I Have Ever Seen, so the category is getting flooded. But, really, how unexpected and completely STUNNING is this top?
The stark white of the super traditional white button-down with the black Coolest Thing Ever make this top read as very elegant and elevated to me. I love the certain minimalist vibe here too; it’s not over-designed.
And do you see how all the buttons are white, but a single black button is used in place of the eye? That is genius!
Don’t wear this skirt to work/pretending-to work-during-your-zoom-meeting-but-really-watching-videos-of-cats-knocking-glasses-off-tables-for-spite because this Sabrina Butterfly skirt has so many fascinating details you won’t be able to concentrate on anything else!
I think we’ve seen this classic skirt design from Sabrina Butterfly before, but here she has switched the elements and given us something fresh and original! First of all, check out the buttons! (In real life they are purple, but your screen might be sending them to you as pink). I love how even the buttons are special with that swirl! The wide waist-band is navy blue, but also has a pattern stitched.
The skirt is colourful and lovely, but then….
….it’s layered over green skirting that is also patterned! This skirt is so fun!
Well, ok, we are going to do another explore because this beautiful beaded purse deserves a close look!
Look at all the gorgeous beading!!! Get ready for all the compliments you are going to get with this purse!
This purse is a soft purse and the base is generous, so it is quite roomy for a clutch.
Now, I’m only going to say this once because I know you are thinking it. It’s Hammer Time. Ok, I said it, it’s done, let’s move on from this sentence and the song that is now running through your head. But, was it worth it OR WHAT?! All the pleats, the exaggerated taper at the ankles and all the room on the hips! These pants are KILLING IT. With the cyclical nature of fashion I think that we can at least revel in some joy that, during a sartorial period when there is a jean style that is *literally* called “the wedgie”, this incredibly comfortable pair of pants on the very razor’s edge of forward fashion is doing all the, um, heavy lifting (pun not intended, but nor was it unwelcome when I realized it!).
Let me tell you all the stuff I’m hiding in those pleats. 3 blizzards a week during deliveries has to go somewhere, amirite!
And this silhouette! The shape and style is immediately identifiable and just so cool! Wear these with a crop-top, friends!
OK, but while we are in that whole genre, let’s discuss this vintage cardi!
I mean, ALL the bright colours ALL together in one sweater! Plus, those shapes and lines make me feel like this is the sweater version of the video game Galaga.
And then, completely randomly, some sweet bows. I mean, sure.
Weeeeeeee, super springtime loafers!
I love a preppy loafer….
…..but with a playful twist!
You trust me, right, friends? Well, these Lululemon shorts look like boxing shorts, but if you look closer…..
….these scallops on the pocket make them DRESS SHORTS!!
My vision with a NON-sporty top:
I wish I knew more about these earrings, friends, because I am sure there is a story. To me they look like they are created using repurposed jewellery parts, and I love that!
These lovelies have 2 dangly chains….
…and gorgeous green bead for a pop of colour….
….and the little fans at the top! So sweet and pretty!
Friends, in my head I have been calling this dress “the Tardis Dress”, and I don’t think I have to explain myself any further. Except that this dress is by ethical fashion designer Jen Glasgow of Montreal, who, as far as I can tell, is not The Doctor. (Although this dress is pretty futuristic, so who knows. Plus, I’m pretty sure if The Doctor did design a dress it would probably look like this, right?)
Love the hidden slit pocket! Will fit a screwdriver.
Here’s the simple design on the side, but if you look closely…..
…you can maybe see that the vertical stripes are made of a different fabric than the horizontal stripe. I love these kinds of secret details!
We are still busy with on-line orders and deliveries these days, but we’ve reopened with modified hours and, friends, the store is looking GORGEOUS. (This is mostly due to Alex’s vision and talent. I just follow her around to tell her random yannicdotes while she does actual work and then I say “The store is looking GORGEOUS” and take credit for it.)
If you feel comfortable, come down and marvel at it’s beauty and give me compliments on Thursdays (12-6) and Saturdays (10-5). Or if you feel that staying home is best for you, I am here to meet your needs to see more clothes by adding new things to the online shop every day….. and you can leave compliments for me in the info part of the delivery instructions of your order! ;)
