Friends, I believe we have enough summer owed to us - I mean- we’ve got enough summer left for this yellow, cropped romper to make all our warm weather dreams come true! This is the romper you wore every day this summer! You wore it for brunch several times, to a 50th anniversary dinner party, to at least 2 weddings, once at a music festival and just over a week ago you wore it to the see a show at the Fringe and then went out for drinks on a patio afterwards!
It’s ok, you can wear this doing all those things next summer too! But, for real, friends, I love the warm mustard colour and the awesome flower print. And the design details here are great: I love that it’s cropped and how it ties in the front!
Our friends down the street at Workhall have created an excellent dusty rose shirt from the future! Actually, though, I really enjoying seeing something so different. It’s minimalist and familiar yet also takes a big fashion-forward leap with that gathered waist. I can’t wait to see this on a human!
You can wear the Workhall top with your black, high-waisted Workhall jeans! Yessssssss! I don’t think “pants” when I think about Workhall, and if I do I certainly never think “jeans”. But I love being surprised like this! (Although, for the future, and in general, I do NOT like surprises).
Nice high waist that will really annoy your mom and aunts:
Oooooooooooooooooo, friends, I love when we have Frye boots in Red Pony! Frye just take themselves so seriously, but I love that level of commitment to themselves and their product. This is the classic harness boot (there is not even any whimsy or embellishment in the name of this design! “Here’s a harness boot. Let’s call it The Harness Boot” -marketing meeting at Frye), which has a rubber sole, which is a bit unexpected from Frye, but very practical, which is typical of Frye, so, of course.
Now this, friends, is sooooooo cool to me! A sherpa cocoon coat! I love the texture and the shape, but I also love the subtle “sporty” signals from the golf collar and cuffs!
Awwwww, love the sherpa, muppet-fur texture!
Ok, to me this is one of those pride-of-place, “I found it at a little consignment shop because I am so effortlessly cool” trophy finds! I have NEVER EVER seen anything like this, friends, and I am crazy about it! You know, at first I was convinced it was Robert Smith from The Cure, but now that I’m seeing it on my screen, I’m thinking it might be Amy Winehouse? BOTH OPTIONS VERY COOL. And in case it is not dramatic enough, there are invisible zippers on each side of the skirt that unzip all the way up past the hips! So, you could wear with cool leather leggings and have the zips open, or you could just have one side open and show a bit more leg…there are many cool options and I am dying!
I’m super excited to share this necklace with you, friends, because it is not what you think! First you’re thinking “Hmmm, nice simple pendant…..”
“Good weight to it. Let’s call it The Heavy Necklace”. But there’s more! You’ll never guess…….
Oh, it’s only a freaking MAGNIFYING GLASS!!
Gah! Where has this been all my life?!
We’re going to have to talk about this coat, friends. First, it’s labeled a medium, but it is nnnnnnnot. Now, I tried it on with plans to wear it as a dress. It didn’t fit (NOT A MEDIUM), but my plan to wear it as a dress was cool plan, right? In conclusion, though, this coat is neither a dress nor a medium.
So this purse has a tag inside that says it’s made in Canada, but that’s it, so I don’t know anything else about it! (But knowing it’s made in Canada is a great start.) The simple slouchy shape is lovely and unique, so it doesn’t come off as trendy.
I looooooooove the patina of the leather, though! It gives the bag so much character and authenticity!
That’s right: express yourself!
Vintage 2008!
Go ahead and wear the Obama t-shirt with this owl skirt!
Owls!!!
From the men’s section:
Adorable flower print!
Then there’s this jacket from the sales section:
And a reminder that this week is our Sliver of Delight sale! That’s what I’m calling it in my head, because the marketing team at Frye wanted to just call it “10% Off Sale”.
Almost a year later we are finally getting around to maybe considering thinking about having a meeting to discuss perhaps hanging this beauty up:
(Gah! I forgot to take a picture of the new rack! It’s a beauty and it’s already packed with amazing coats!)
We are thinking of ordering Hue tights and leggings for Red Pony for fall. What do you think? For real I need feedback, because Rod, who works in a guitar shop (and who wears jeans and a t-shirt to work every single day except on Fridays when he declares “It’s casual Friday” and puts on, yes, jeans and a t-shirt), has surprisingly strong opinions about carrying Hue leggings that are completely opposite (ahem, wrong) from my own. I need an unbiased third opinion, but only one that matches my side of the argument.
I’m in on Saturday, friends! When you come to the shop we’ll look together and decide if it is Robert Smith or Amy Winehouse on that skirt, discuss how Bachelor in Paradise twice a week is a big viewing commitment and how we’ve had to cut out other activities, like exercise, to fit it in and so maybe we are glad when it ends(?) and you can tell me your thoughts about Hue leggings. And don’t forget the 10% off sale!
