Well, friends, it suddenly feels like everything has changed (and I’m a super mellow person who has no problem adapting to change I HAVE NO PROBLEM LIKE THAT I AM VERY NORMAL AND VERY FINE WITH EVERYTHING). But for real, friends, the store has so much new stuff in that it feels like a completely different shop all of a sudden!
Through all my rummaging and snooping in the back room, I don’t know how I missed the incoming of this Soia & Kyo coat! Being true to themselves, this coat has the Soia & Kyo signature exaggerated collar, big buttons and everything heavy on the asymmetrical. This Canadian brand is rare treat to have in the shop, and I can’t stop staring it!
This could have been in the Teeny, Tiny Blog last week!
I love love LOVE this honeycomb shape. Check out how it’s asymmetrical too!
From our friends down the street at Workhall: a jersey hi-lo top!
How would you wear this, you ask? Well, how about with a pair of pleather leggings……
….or snakeskin print leggings! Pair with booties!
Friends, I have to confess this thing. In order to make sure everyone likes me, I have been agreeing for years that the fanny packs of yore were a dumb fashion trend that shouldn’t have existed. But I am a FRAUD because I secretly didn’t understand what was so bad about them. Since I am confessing, I also don’t understand why scrunchies crashed and burned so hard, and I thought mini-backpacks were practical. And well, well, well, look what fashion trend is back. So, really, one could argue that I am at the forefront of fashion trends since I never really left Fanny-Pack-Scrunchie Island. And this particular fanny pack is a grown-up leather version!
So, similar to that Oak and Fort scuba jacket we talked about a couple of weeks ago (still available, btw), this coat is also from that same future space station/glass dome on some rocky, yet beautiful, moon/planet/satellite!
Everyone knows it can be chilly up in space, which is why the coats are made of igneous rocks formed from cooled magma…..
….except it’s soft and squishy like cotton balls!
Is it just me or does this Kate Spade tote look like it could be from the future too?
Must be the super shiny patent leather and black-on-black name plate.
OK, I’m kinda crazy about this little winter-white blazer. It has wool in it, so it’s perfect for winter. The buttons don’t actually button all the way down, so it’s designed to be worn in a contemporary top-button only style even though the design itself (boxy cut, slightly puffed sleeves, distressed hems) is signaling a very specific vintage look. I just love this kind of subtle but mindful designing!
Ok, this may not be my usual thing, friends, but I secretly really love this sweater! It’s so soft and fuzzy, and so weird!
Metallic threading? Muted colour? Random eighties geometrics? Give me more!!
Weeee this is from one of my personal faves, Yumi! I love the structured/stiff look of it and the slight industrial vibe of the brushed gold. It’s pretty, but not trying too hard.
From the men’s section -hey, just a reminder that even though it’s called “the men’s section” everyone is welcome to enjoy the treasures therein- Redwing orphan boots!
These are from their Heritage collection, and I love the classic 1890s orphan look of them!
You know I love some good patina on boots! These look well worn and loved.
The scarf selection is starting to get wintery, friends!
But for today: just cats!
The back room is just non-stop these days, friends! Let’s explore….
I counted at least TWO Cinder & Smoke dresses!
Um, yes to more Matt & Nat! (With clutch and shoes inside!!!!)
Fine. No big deal. Really. Everyone, just be cool. BE COOL.
Then, just because it’s cute!
So, I was catching up on Coronation Street and have to tell you about this funny bit. Emma -who it turns out is Steve McDonald’s DAUGHTER!!!- said she has “OPD: Obsessive Price Disclosure”, so when anyone compliments her clothes she always responds with “It only cost 9 £!” instead of just saying “Thanks”. Haha, I am so like that!
Well, friends, as always I will be in on Saturday so stop by and we can talk about Forever 21, what original scrunchies were like and Coronation Street!
