Bonne anne, friends! I had a blast meeting up with all my out-of-town friends in town for the holidays....and sneaking them into Red Pony for some 11PM shopping and visiting!
Let's see what's in....
I love that the bold flower print of this dress is done with muted colours (including mustard yellow, one of my faves!) so that it doesn't look too retro...
....and look at the fabulous, elegant back!
Adorable Miz Mooz booties:
Isn't this billowy eyelet blouse by coutiriers Chloé so simple and lovely?
I'm fascinated by these buttons, which are round and have sparkles in them. I almost by-passed them, but the spare button on the inner tag is still attached, and it was like finding a precious stone!
So here's what often happens to me at Red Pony: as I'm piling up the stuff I like, I sometimes realise that many of pieces are from the same consignor.(Demystification: each consignor gets an account number comprised in part by the first four letters of their last name, which you can see on the tags). So when I realise that I'm holding a bunch of items with the same code, I know that that consignor and I must have the same taste. Which is what happened with this Fossil bracelet! It's coded "cadr01" (you know who you are!), which I recognised immediately because I already have an embarrassing amount of pieces from this consignor in my wardrobe! (And I might have snatched up another one of her bracelets today too! Yay!)
How awesome is this wooly, purple dress?!
There is so much to deconstruct here! Mushroom houses, cats sleeping on clouds, maybe a fox or two...
I loved this blazer as soon as I saw it. The tan corduroy is very vintagey, but the cut is modern and elegant. Theory knows its way around the lady blazers!
This jacket looks suspiciously like a Soia&Kyo, but it's BIllabong. Who, it turns out, has a very thoughtful and thorough ethical practices model. (Who knew?).
Hmmm, I'm pretty sure we saw this Aritzia jacket in a different colour in the fall. This one has great contrasting piping on the pockets and shoulder panels:
Believe it or not, this floral "jacket" is actually all sheer!
Hello drop-waist silk dress from Anthropologie!
Look at the great micro-pleats in the skirting!
I'm kicking myself now for not trying this on for you, friends. I love the boat neck and the robbin's-egg-blue colour......
....but of course what stood out for me are the cut outs on the sleeves!
So, yes this is a cute knit top from The North Face but....
....look at the tag! Do you see it? Oops!
And here is my favourite type of tag! I love knowing that someone put the final touches on a garment by thinking about its construction and manually ticking off the boxes.
This particular tag is from this gorgeous Allison Wonderland dress by Canadian designer Allison Smith. Plus, it has pockets!
Hey, did you see that The Extensionist has moved out of our Old Pony location on Whyte ave? So we're moving back there....just kidding! Megan moved into our old location to start up her own business in January 2014 and it has really taken off and expanded. Well done, Megan!
