It’s Fashion Revolution Week, friends, and if you are reading this because you love to shop at Red Pony, well, then, my dear, dear friends, you are part of the solution! Stay woke and keep being you!
This week it’s a veritable menagerie in the shop; we’ve got birds, bunnies and horses! We even have squirrels (but that didn’t make the cut for this week……although…..maybe I can’t resist?…….ok, this doesn’t count, but check out this broach:
Friends, it’s a mirror! Here’s a pic with my phone in the reflection:
Close bracket, and let’s start the blog for real!)
Friends, we have one of Smoking Lily’s most popular items: The Simple Tee! We love Smoking Lily’s original designs, conscious fashion mentality and scrappy we-can-do-it independent history!
Birds and planes? Sure, but…..
…one of the great things about this top is that there is no designated front or back, so you can also wear it with this side and print as the “front”!
I like this side because, well, cacti!
And, as you know, when we have Smoking Lily in the shop there is never only one, so, ta-dah! ANOTHER Simple Tee!
This one has cuckoo clock! Oooooooooo, I love me some analogue time-pieces!
And the other “front”:
I was so excited to see this in the jewelry case because Canadian Firefly Notes makes knitting accessories! (I have one of her tool tins! I got it from The Fibre Nook just down on 99 street.)
I love the vintage illustration look of these earrings, and I adore how they don’t match each other!
I’m always so curious when I see Oak+Fort pants; like, what have they come up with this time? Can you see in the picture how this pair of pants has one large exaggerated pleat down the front of each leg? Well, for those who are pleat-phobic these could be very scary. However, I saw these on a human and they look in-cre-di-ble! You have to try these on to get the full cool-factor of these pants; they are awesome!
Ok, friends, this is your pee warning. Some of you *will* be peeing your pants shortly. And in case you don’t heed my pee-warning, I will ease you into this by first checking out the cool tag on this next piece:
(Yikes, it has just occurred to me that some of you who are not Very Old Vampires like myself might not get what that is! ^That, friends, is an antique smartphone!)
Here is the back of their cool tag; I am in favour of everything they are saying here!
Who else is peeing their pants now?! I loooooooooovvvveee this!!!!
Hey, remember when we saw these peaking out from the backroom? I couldn’t believe it then, and I almost still can’t believe it! Elvis head boots!
From the front they just look like regular boots that may or may not have an Elvis head or pink bunny heel!
This week’s special treat is a Betsey Johnson!
Have you noticed that dusty pink is everywhere these days? Check out this elegant romper! I love the tie across the waist and the wide legs; it’s so grown-up!
OK, so more bird earrings, but this time they are birds and birdcages!
Want more birds? Because we have more birds!
The horses are from the mens section:
How cool is this pattern?! It’s like a little stamp!
This week in scarf……
…bunnies!
And here’s what I dug up in the 50% off rack:
This is my special tin from Firefly Notes (via The Fibre Nook) and my "brass cats” stitch markers!
Please emotionally prepare yourself: there will be no blog for the next two Wednesdays. I know. Rod (my spouse) is going away for a week, which means I have to do all the adulting, and, frankly, I just cannot [be bothered to] multi-task any farther than knitting while watching TV. Anyways, since [I am lazy and] I’ll have to divert a bunch of brainpower to, um, meal-planning and general human survival, I will probably not be able to do a comprehensive, readable blog in time for next week. Then *I’m* going out of town to a place where all my meals will be prepared for me and the toilet paper magically appears in all bathrooms. So according to my calculations, we’ll be back to regular blogging on May 15th, which seems strangely far away because it’s after the Holy Trinity rummage sale, Royal Bison and the start of season 6 of The 100! But, hey, I will be in this Saturday if you want to pop in and we can talk about the nuances Fashion Revolution Week, library cards and which tool tin you would choose from Firefly Notes!
