It’s all sunny and cozy in the shop these days, friends, and there’s nothing else to do but settle in and look at clothes!
I love all the Preloved that we have pouring into the shop these days! This jacket is cute, but like some things we’ve seen recently in the shop from Preloved, this one also isn’t too busy with many different source fabrics. This reads to me as very grown up, plus it looks great and futuristic-lab-coat-like when worn open too!
Of course I love anything orange in a garment as a rare and subversive colour.
And check out the *one* pocket! This feels like wink from Preloved telling us they are still being their unconventional selves!
Friends, we all have to manage our emotions and pace ourselves here because this Alexander McQueen top is not our only special treat this week!
Can you see how the blue lace is not backed? Hot.
Would you believe if I told you it’s raining Poppy Barley in the shop right now? Well, IT IS.
These simple little elf boots are adorable!
Easy access zipper and always-sturdy Poppy Barely heel!
Sooooooo, how do you feel about a vintage St. John wool cardigan?! I love how insanely classic this sweater is from the cut, all the way to the could’t-be-anything-other-but….
….gold buttons! This piece is so gorgeous; I’m feeling lightheaded.
This one is just flying under the radar waiting it’s turn, but I’m sure you’re going to love it!
It’s knit crochet. but black, which means it can do winter.
If this was a colour I could wear, I would be all over this dress for winter! Oversized cardigan and winter boots and you are done!
This necklace is one of those things that (a) is way more interesting than you think at first and (b) totally comes alive when worn on a human.
Each ball is a different colour! Love! Sure, if they were each the same it would be still be cute, but I love, love, love the quirkiness of them each being different!
Gah, friends, another colour that I can’t wear!! This Oak + Fort knit cardigan/blazer (cardazer? Blardigan? Blazigan? Cardizer? Clazer? Cardiger? This might take a while….) is sooooo cool! I love this awkward shape: kinda boxy but not structured since it’s knit, oversized shape but cropped sleeves. Wear this one over Office Pants and white button-down with a covered band (it works in my head!), or wear with those high-waisted jeans you have that are baggy in the thigh and an oversized t-shirt tucked in, or wear it over your sweatpants when you have to run out to get some yogurt (ICECREAM) late at night and want to look like you are a bit more put together!
Oooooooo, but then it gets even weirder! This felt throw thing has armholes, so the drape has a bit of direction, but there is so much you can do with the cascading folds! Dress or pants! Long-sleeve and short sleeve! Sweater or tank top!
I’m happy to let you guys know that all our Stuart Weitzman’s do not feel threatened by the arrival of all the Poppy Barleys!
I’m almost starting to lose track of which Stuart Weitzman’s I have shared with you so far! But the leopard print ones are DEFINITELY super special!
Elegant pony hair…..
….and that cone heel is so fashion-forward and fun!
This week in the men’s section:
And, look! A Lululemon scarf!
This one is wool, so it’s super warm AND dramatic!
Love this dark eggplant colour!
I pulled this sweater out of the sale section (50% off!), and I have a lot to say about it. First of all, it’s wool!
Now, clearly the designers have made a conscious choice to present the weaving and knitwork of the sweater (usually hidden on the inside) on the outside. We’ve seen this before on some beautiful sweaters from Aritzia, but it always kinda freaks me out as a knitter because I would never put the wrong-side of my work on the outside. But this is a thing now, and I’m a really mellow laid-back person who just goes with the flow so, you know, what ev’, I’m chill.
HOWEVER, JUST FOR FUN, let’s just take a look at what this sweater looks like inside out (which is to say showing the “right-side” on the outside).
I mean, check out how that lovely pattern pops! So I guess you can just wear this whichever way your mellow, laid-back heart desires.
That’s it for this week, friends! We have a couple awesome consignors coming in this week, so I can’t wait to see all the great new goodies! As always, I’ll be in on Saturday dancing around the shop while eating a bismarck; come in for a visit and we can talk about Meghan Markle’s hat choices, unexpected colours that look good on us and the high-waisted jeans are going to wear with the St. John cardi!
