This week, friends, we have so much fun stuff to look at! Get ready for smiling, because there are lots of our faves too!
Oooooooooo, we have Smoking Lily in the shop!!!!! And not just any Smoking Lily, one of our very favourite prints……
…the periodic table print! We’ve seen this before on dresses and scarves, and now we get it in a tunic! (This tunic even has pockets, friends!)
How happy are we that it’s Cape Season?! I don’t like to talk about the weather (because I have no control over the weather, and I only like things I can control, but not in a control freak kind of way, just in a very mellow and laid back everything-has-to-go-how-I-plan-it-or-I’ll-freak-out kind of way) but because of the way summer went (ahem), the short autumn and the inevitable long winter stretching before us, I have given myself permission to fill my closet with things that I am excited about, so that I can look forward to all the fun things I get to wear. Like CAPES!
Because this is a fancy Anthropologie cape, it’s wool (yesssssssss!) and has tacked sleeves, so that your arms go through the armhole which helps to keep the cape in place and keep you warm so you can really enjoy how fun it is to wear a cape!
Remember last week when we had Stuart Weitzman boots and EVERYONE wanted them? (Sidenote: if you see something you like on the blog you can always phone the shop and we can put it on hold for you!) Welllll, we have another pair! Last week’s pair was super popular, but, myself, I prefer these ones. I like the casual built-in slouch, and this high of boot on the calf is my sweet spot.
And on these ones can you see the subtle camouflage wedge for just a touch of extra height? These ones are so cool!
Weeeeeeeeee! From our friends on 124th street Salgado Fenwick! Friends, are you seeing what I’m seeing? Like, we’re looking the placement of the daisies, right? I do love a subversive T!
The daisy’s are cool, but bees are very, very important to the survival of the human race. So, more bees please! (I love how they’ve included grains of pollen here! Those bees are working so hard. Keep being you, bees!)
Now, how fun an adorable is this sweater?! I LOVE this!
Too fun! I want this print on everything! I feel like this would look great on a purse, and you could wear the sweater and the purse at the same time with some cropped pants and ballet flats while riding a bike!
Friends, this might replace that steampunk magnifying glass necklace as The Coolest Thing I Have Ever Seen! It’s a bracelet made out of bike chain!
Sadly I have no idea who made this or where it comes from, but it is SO RAD! You have to see it in real life!
And then there is this angry deer sweater! You know I love me a grumpy animal! (Plus, it’s actually a really nice sweater…but I really am just here for the grumps!)
And for the Desigual lovers, a Desigual winter coat! This coat is absolutely gorgeous, and to be honest with you, friends, I was surprised to see it’s Desigual. The colours are muted, and the zen orchid print is just not what I associate with Desigual. What I think is really cool about this one is the top-down ombré! That is such a cool touch, especially with the dramatic fur-not-fur trim on the hood!
And, friends, very out of character: there is no vanity logo anywhere (that I can see) on the exterior of this coat! I think this was good design choice for this one, and it’s a bit of a relief to let the coat speak for itself and not busy it up too much.
Ack! If Alice in Wonderland wore loafers (like, maybe to her grown-up office job where she does statistical reconfiguration and data factoring for large corporations?), these would be them! I loooooooooove these, friends! So special with the white patent leather, the dove-grey-in-the-new-black grey…..
…..and that blue piping!! I’m dying! Yup, I have died.
Vintage alert! And this vintage is brought to you from….
….the men’s section! Great traditional western shirt with the mother of pearl snaps, smile pockets, piping and embroidery! Check, check, check and check.
It’s raining blanket scarfs at Red Pony, friends!
I found a YEG shirt in the sale section!
So, I don’t know if the stars have aligned or what, but suddenly it’s like we’re a Stuart Weitzman outlet or something? I counted THREE more pairs in the backroom, including a leopard print pair! Gah! Can’t breath. Need water.
And it’s not just Stuart Weitzmans back there:
Actually, friends, the back room is packed and it was too overwhelming to even take pics, PLUS I peeked at the appointment book for this week and some of my favourite consignors are coming in right away! We are going to blow up!
Hey, I’ll be away next week, friends, but Kennedy (who’s in Red Pony Mondays and Wednesdays) will be hosting the blog for you! As we all know by now, Kennedy follows ZERO fashion rules, so I can’t wait to see what she has to share!
PS Don’t forget to vote on Monday if you haven’t already, friends! Sometimes I can be a *little* dramatic, and on voting days I always end up thinking about how it would suck to have to hope our brother or father take us out to vote, have to undress to levels of modesty that we are uncomfortable with at a public polling site, stay home and not vote at all if we are visibly pregnant, stand in a gender segregated line up if we are trans, be unable to vote at all because we weren’t allowed to attend school and we cannot read etc (very sadly et cetera). Isn’t it great how we can just roll up to our neighborhood polling station, waltz in, vote, maybe buy a little something at the fundraising bake sale at the door and be done 5 minutes? That’s less time -and, let’s face it, less stress- than it takes me to chose a show to watch on Netflix!
