It's been a while since I've talked about my love of clothes from the future, but I've found a whole bunch this week, friends! Plus, clothes I've mentally categorized as "just adorable", as well as loads of larger sizes!
Let's start with the adorable, because how could I NOT start with this charming Cinder + Smoke dress?! (Designed and made by local Janna Stewart, who you can find at the 104 Market on Saturdays!)
Cinder + Smoke dress; Size 8, $42
So last week I was surprisingly excited about that great two-piece by Club Monaco, and then this week I find this darling dress with the same playful vibe! Unexpectedly (and somewhat mysteriously), this dress is silk and wool!
Club Monaco dress; Size 4, $38
From one of my own personal favourite brands: Yumi!
Yumi dress; Size S, $32
At first glance, these shoes could seem unremarkable, but check out the two tone contrast of the leather and suede, and look at that little "collar" at the ankle. Lots of great details that don't overwhelm on an all around timeless shoe.
Naturalizer shoes; S7, $28
So seriously friends, I've mentioned before that I love clothes that are somehow other-wordly and seem to be from the future, both elegant and unique. When I saw this top/dress(?), I actually had to ask some friends (strangers!) that were in Red Pony how a person from 2017 should wear this? My new friends suggested skinny jeans or dressy shorts (love it!).
Orange Creek; Size S, $22
I think also possibly leather pants...and a laser gun.
This tunic is so simple and elegant, yet has the great shoulder-cape element that makes you look twice:
Giordano tunic; Size S, $28
Spacey, Italian sandal-booties (from futuristic-sounding brand Strategia):
Strategia shoes; S6.5, $42
Check out the great laser cuts in the leather! (Ha! See what I did there? "Laser"? Future? Haha)
This wooly tunic's pockets are lined up so geometrically perfect that they look like they are drawn on!
JK&JS tunic; Size L, $34
Friends, I own this exact same shirt from Anthropologie! (I'm even wearing it right now!). Come get this one and we can be twins!
9-H15 STCL shirt; Size XS, $18
Earrings from new-to-me local jewelry designer Joslyn McDonald at R Studio. Don't you think those beaded earrings look like angle wings? So lovely!
R Studio earrings (NWT); Feathers, $42. Beaded, $28
Thanks to the magical and mysterious ebb and flow of the Red Pony turn over, we have tonnes of great stuff in larger sizes in the shop right now! This Calvin Klein dress is understated with its simple shape, boat neck and 3/4 length sleeves, but also stunning and glamorous with its over-all, unapologetic silver lace!
Calvin Klein dress; Size 12, $36
This one might be the most perfect dress ever! Heavy material, thick straps for your mom-bra, timeless and playful shape...well played, Banana Republic, well played.
Banana Republic dress; Size 14, $36
Great, wear-anywhere drindl dress:
Calvin Klein dress; Size XL, $42
These nude, pointed-toe shoes are flats!
Abound shoes; S7, $18
Important note: I'm going out of town for a few days (to Saskatoon! I know, I'm super excited too!). The modified hours for this Canada Day weekend are 11-5 on Saturday -which is also Red Pony's birthday!- and we will be CLOSED on Sunday (sorry!). Sadly, no blog next Wednesday (sorry! sorry!), but here's what is waiting in the back room right now, so come down to the shop and check these out for me while I'm away!
The blue thing with red birds-on-a-wire is actually a dress!
Long-sleeved something with owls:
Little bows!
A sailboat cardigan!?!!!!
I'm super dysfunctional at taking selfies (how does everyone else do it?!), but I really am wearing the same bird shirt today!
