Well friends, the shop seems to be packed with Wilfred tank tops, colourful shoes and loads of Eileen Fisher right now!
In my head I was calling this dress "The Sailor Dress" (because of the navy, white and red?). It's layered and billowy, perfect for hitting the markets on a hot summer morning!
Fantastic halter top from Preloved!
For friends who don't know Preloved, they are a Canadian brand that makes new clothes out of old clothes.
I love the way Preloved pays attention to detail and re-purposes strucural elements of the old garment as a design element in the new creation. In this case, the striped back of this garment sports the button band of what was surely a button down top in its past life.
Never one to scrimp on reconstruction, they also added this zipper (which I think looks great as a counter-balance to the airy feel of the pale yellow):
Special thanks to Sara (who used to work at Red Pony. Do you know her? She's great!) for modeling the shoes on her tiny feet. I love the triangle cut-out made by the straps. As usual, Miz Mooz delivers more than just a typical mary-jane!
These elegant, grown-up pants by Eileen Fisher (one of my faves!) are silk! (Seriously friends, we have loads of Eileen Fisher in the shop right now! Such a treat!).
You might think that a mustard yellow skirt would be hard to match, but I think this skirt would actually match with so many things (like the red Miz Mooz shoes)! Check out the pleats ABOVE the belt band: would look amazing with a shirt tucked in!
Delicate, beaded bracelet:
You know, I saw this halter and skirt set and I thought "Awww, that's adorable". Then I realized that the wrap skirt is actually shorts, and I thought "well, that is just AWESOME!"
These great yellow/tan platforms would probably look great with everything else that you already have in your closet! (Hey, they even match with everything on the blog this week! Ta-dah!)
Sara offers up her tiny feet to model these ones too!
The colour combo on this dress is so lovely, the denim blue just looks so great against the coral!
And the back has this great faux-layering effect:
Cuffs gonna cuff!
These simple black pants from Noul have more to offer than meets the eye...
...I mean, elastic waist AND back pockets?! Yes please!
Stunning, colour-block dress:
There is something delightful about these busy earrings:
You know how I love assymetrical coats!
OK, so this one has to be your style to make it work, but I just love it! The cropped cut, wide front/back v-neck, the sunflowers, it all screams '90s to me (I know because I was there!)...and I'm eating it up!
I'll be at Red Pony on Saturday, friends, so come by and say hi! I just read this great quote (but I can't remember where I read it so I can't cite it! Sorry, bad internet form!): Everything I learned about friendship I learned from the Spice Girls. LOVE IT! So guess which CD I will be playing in Red Pony on Saturday....NOW don't you want to come visit me in the shop even more?!
