Party pants! These shorts are all sequins, friends! Now, I know what you are thinking, "Where am I going to wear sequin shorts?" (while some of you are thinking, "Do I need ANOTHER pair of sequin shorts?". You know who you are). You could rock these shorts with a sheer, flowy black top and sandal-booties. These are just so fun!
OK, the colour of this leather jacket is grey/baby-blue, I hope it shows on your screen. It is so luscious and surprisingly feminine. Check-out the wavy contrast stitching and the wee pocket on the left sleeve!
You know I'm always happy to come across some Miz Mooz. These ones are wedges:
I'm so attracted to orange, it's an unexpected colour to find in clothes. The colour and pattern of this billowy Topshop dress are so playful!
And it has an awesome back!
So I grabbed this BCBG dress and it took me a few seconds to realize why it felt different from all the other lacy dresses around this spring. (Actually, it took me looking at the picture to figure it out!). But this one has cap sleeves, a collar and buttons down the front so it has a more classic/vintagey feel:
Super funky fly-watch!
This great grey dress has no identifying tags on it, but it totally reminds me of Modcloth's popular Coach Tour Dress:
I absolutely love this elegant Dooney & Bourke purse, it's so classic and grown-up!
This dress is actually secretly very saucy: the front criss-crosses and reveals just a bit of skin on the torso! I'm seeing this at an evening garden party, with paper lanterns all around...
We were just talking about leopard prints while at the playground today (as one does)! I love leopard print on shoes: it shows maturity but also that you're not taking anything too seriously!
The print on these pants is so fabulous:
A beautiful teal-blue Nine West purse with gold hardware. There are no store tags on it, but this one looks brand new to me!
This super-cute tank is all about the back:
Although there is still great new stuff in production by Canadian long-timer Joseph Ribkoff, I'm guessing this great piece is vintage.....
....based on the look of this tag:
Yes, American Apparel is controversial, but I have to share the hilarious thing that I love about their designs: they are purposefully awkward! Instead of being just simple and classic, which could quickly degrade to "boring", the pieces are purposefully a bit too boxy, or too short or too, um, transparent. You get the idea. But ironically it's that awkward element that keeps the designs fresh and appealing.
Shiny patent leather and a bold colour combo could go seriously wrong together, but these shoes come off as both simple and sophisticated:
This lovely top is silk!
And it has great little back details:
This fun dress also has a great geometric back similar to the Staring at Stars tank:
Although this classy number looks small, it actually has a surprising amount of room (and great texture!):
I think this dress is hand-made (which thrills me!):
For those of you who love vintage silhouettes or flowey midi skirts, this Alice Moon skirt is going to blow your mind. It's two tiered, but rather than having one sheer tier and one regular fabric tier, BOTH tiers of this skirt are of the same egg-plant coloured brushed cotton! It has incredible volume and movement!
A couple of blue dresses for the office:
Remember when we talk about exposed zippers last week? This Topshop dress has a super unique take on the exposed zipper.......
...and also has an amazing back!
I really like the way the border detail of this tank works:
Everybody needs some sensible shoes (one of my favourite podcasts was recently talking about this very thing!), and these cuties with memory foam are just right:
Well, these are super-cute owls...so this counts as a shirt with birds on it!
Friends, I can't believe that this AWESOME yellow Fossil purse is still in the store! I would snatch it up myself, but I have this compulsion of carrying the Alberta Health Care cards of every member of my family in my wallet, so my ridiculously huge mom-wallet doesn't fit into this purse. Boo.
Party Pants!!
