The Pony is just bursting with great things lately, friends! Like this pineapple dress:
Great criss-cross straps in the back....
I've been racking my brain to make absolutely sure that the following bold statement is true (and it is!): Hilary Druxman is my all-time favourite Canadian jewellery designer. I've been a fan for ages and have many of her pieces, which is why I'm sure that this necklace is a Hilary Druxman:
If pineapples on your dress is not your thing, perhaps poodles on your dress is more your style! The tag on this dress is not readable (it's just colours), but I recognise the label as one carried at our friends at The Groove Stone, which means it's Canadian!
Finding things in the shop from our beloved Nokomis is like getting a surprise visit from a dear old friend....
I was also super excited to find this Fridget jacket by local Edmonton designer and maker Bridget Smatlan. (Can I be a geek for a second to tell you that I KNOW HER!! She almost always recognises me when we run into each other, and once I remind her of my name she'll say "Oh, yeah"...are we best friends or what?!). You can get Fridget Apparel at the Edmonton Downtown Farmer's Market and maker events like The Royal Bison Art and Craft Fair.
Hey, you could wear your Fridget vest over this lovely floral dress!
Look at this awesome rockabilly dress from our friends at Rowena on Whyte! Don't let the brand name "Trashy Diva" fool you, this dress is totally lovely!
Back at the old Pony (when we were on Whyte Ave) for a while we would have a monthly pop-up store featuring local designers/makers like Fridget (did I mention that I KNOW HER!) and Cinder+Smoke. (I do not really know Cinder+Smoke designer Janna Stewart, but if YOU know her be sure to tell her that I know Bridget! Just kidding, tell her that I want to meet her so I can make a big deal about knowing her too!) It's always nice to find Cinder+Smoke on our racks.
This one even has top-loading pockets!
This vintage-cut dress can take you anywhere! The material is the type that you can roll it in a ball at the bottom of your carry-on and it will come out perfect on landing!
And, hello, what's this? An exposed zipper!
More Edmonton-designer loving with this classy Nicole Campre number:
Look at the subtly feminine back:
I'm not typically a fan of kerchief dresses, but this one has great hang without being "triangley" (you know what I mean)!
Why have a plain white tank when you can have a white tank with constellations!
There is almost as much material in the tag as there is on the top! But you know I love a good tag!
Friends, jump suits look ridiculous on a hanger, so use your imagination here because they look great when worn!
Lovely blue top:
I might be losing my mind, friends. I think we've seen this top before. Is it just me? If I'm repeating something, sorry!
Look, stars!
And you can imagine how excited I was when I noticed that the tag on that green Shelby&Palmer dress identified the colour as "Black Mermaid"...
But I was wrong.
