I’m keeping it weird this week, friends, and I am luuuuuuuuuving all of it!
You know, at first I thought these were galactic leggings (like the galaxy jacket we saw a few weeks ago!), but no, no, no……they are galaxy leggings with UNICORNS on them!!!!
That’s right, friends: actual unicorn leggings!
Wasn’t it just last week that I mentioned we are awash in Noul and Oak+Fort? Here’s a taste from our departed beloved Noul. This dress is a bit odd, friends, but I’m all about it. It has a kind of librarian vibe, but also I think there is some sort of funky minimalism going on here. Like, I think you could rock with with a pair of geeky sneakers!
Ok, and just one more! This one is pre-Noul, Loft 82. I suspect the asymmetry here is because it is meant to be tied on the one side, but I haven’t seen this one on a human yet to confirm.
Of course, I’m into it for the floral-curtain print!
At first this purse had a folksy feel to me -something about the brown leather and the tassel I guess- but you only have to look for a second to see that it also has some serious futuristic vibes with the unexpected ergonomic way the strap lays flat and meets up with the oversized hardware. I tried it on for you as a crossbody, and it hangs amazingly. And THEN, when I made sure no one was looking, I wrapped the strap around my waist like a belt and suddenly this purse became a holster! Friends, the pouch laid flat and it looked super fashion-forward and cool!
Look at the geometry here! I love how it has all come together so mindfully!
Now, it won’t hold your knitting or your mom-wallet. However, it occurs to me that maybe not everyone needs to carry a knitting project around with them, and maybe not everyone is obsessed with carrying the documents of everyone in their household around on their person at all times. So if you are one of these people, this purse will for-sure hold a cellphone, wallet and keys.
Huh, wait, what have we here? Only a piece from one of my very favourite Canadian brands, Preloved! I love Preloved because the sustainability philosophy is right there in front of us: they turn reclaimed clothing and deadstock fabric into unique creations! I love looking at Preloved items and mentally identifying (or hypothesizing) what each piece in the garment used to be.
Already I love this one because I love the green, and I think the cut will probably be super flattering when worn on a human being. And before we start wondering if this is maybe a bit “ordinary” by Preloved standards…..
….check out the adorable cut-out on the back! This is an edgy and unexpected detail. Well done, Preloved! Keep being you!
One of the three person team behind BauXo is from Edmonton, and I think that’s enough to count as local!
So, friends, this, um, thing that looks like a skirt is not entirely a skirt. I mean, it IS a super comfy jersey skirt until you get to the bottom of it….
…where it is sealed up, except for the leg holes. If you can’t quite visualize it, no worries: when you come in to try it one you will *totally* understand its coolness!
Ooooo, I just love this one from Anthropologie (but I tried it on for you and it looks terrible on me)!
Check out the playful little pocket!
So I’m almost wondering if I should somehow incorporate “carpet print” into my list of fave print types? Although I think it’s not something we see often, right? Anyways, I am totally into the “carpet” print of this skirt! I love that there is orange in it!
And I love how it’s all “I’m just a regular pencil skirt….OR AM I??”!
These are not just super shiny Chelsea boots, they are RUBBER Chelsea boots!
Just a pretty, peach silk dress from Aritzia:
And in the mens section I reached in and pulled out a Calvin Klein denim shirt!
I love the mysterious seamless front pocket trying to hide in plane sight!
And from the sales section at 50% off:
Check out the scallops!
So the Red Pony steamer was not working for a few days (we showed it who’s boss, though!), which was enough time for everything to get backed up and now, gulp, the backroom is just packed! Here is a peak at the mess, and some of the goodies that are about to come bursting out on a wave of steam….
‘Nuff said:
Kate Spade mini backpack!

Oooo, this one is Smoking Lily, and you know there is never just one!

I’m in on Saturday as usual, and also earlier in the day on Thursday if you want to miss the Saturday crowds (harhar) and come in for a chat!
