Hurray, we have one of my personal faves in the shop: Yumi! In the past, demographically Yumi populated alot my actual wardrobe. (Lately there has been a shift, but that’s a story for another day!) I always love the approachable yet quirky designs. Easy to wear, but also sure to get you compliments (my favourite)!
I mentioned on Instagram that we have gotten in a WHOLE BUNCH of size 10 shoes! I know it sometimes isn’t easy for fashion-loving size-tens, so I’m super excited to have these in the shop!
I love a t-strap, but my favourite part here is….the yellow heel!
Yessssssssss, an awesome vintage-curtain-y pattern! (And the top is cute too, harhar!)
I kinda wish there was a whole dress in this print!
The cut-outs at the shoulder are a great design choice, and I bet that flash of skin really pops when a human is wearing this. Plus……
….cut outs on the back too!
I love the drape, the chambray colour and the slouch of these overalls!
From beloved Canadian juggernaut Matt & Nat! I REALLY appreciate the simplicity here. A minimalist crossbody with great lines and no superfluous zippers or pockets that are too small to hold anything (side-eyeball to the slot pocket on my Matt & Nat backpack)!
From our departed friends down the ave: Loft 82!
Check out the unexpected use of pattern here and the switch up across the bottom of the skirt. Good for you, Loft 82! Keeping it interesting from the beyond!
Friends, I am SO EXCITED about these shoes! They are jelly shoes!
Remember that episode in Star Trek: Voyager where B’Elanna Torres gets split into two of herself: her human self and her Klingon self? If these shoes were each half of themselves, I would still love them! If they weren’t jelly and were leather, I would love them because I love this design. And if they were jelly but not this design, I would equally be excited because, well, they’re jelly shoes!
I tried these on for you friends, and they are SO COMFY and kind of foamy on the bottom. I’ve got my eye on these ones, so you’ve been warned!
I am starting to think that the thing missing from my wardrobe (other than a pair of black jelly shoes) is a denim vest like this one!
Weeeeeeeeeee, these plaid pants are sooooooooo fun! You could even wear these with the jelly shoes!
So, at first glance this looks like a cute sleeveless button-down……
….but it is actually covered in little lipsticks!!! Love it!
You will need to come see this one in person, friends, because I’m not sure if the adorable tiny size of this purse is coming through your screen. I love this because it’s all small (oooooooo, I just love teeny-tiny things), but it also stands up on its own so it can just sit there, being a box!
The inside won’t fit a knitting project or sonic screwdriver, but it is surprisingly roomy when expanded and can hold all your clothes pins.
From our friends down the street at Workhall:
I found this great J Crew shirt in the mens section!
I love this pattern (and also wish it was a full dress):
A fluffy scarf from Aritzia for your between-season needs:
From the 50% off sales section: I can’t believe this Lululemon top is still here! It’s so multi-functional: dressy enough for work, and casual enough for you to wear while pretending you are a ballerina on her day off! (Or, you know, maybe you ARE a ballerina on her day off, in which case, can we be friends? Do you watch Star Trek: Voyager?)
So, friends, I sprained my ankle! I blame globalization (because I blame globalization for everything!). I fell off the last step of my stairs as I was straining to look out our stairwell window because there were a bunch of police and Animal Control cars near the cat-house down our back alley. THREE police cars, friends! There was drama! Of course, I missed it all because I was laying on the floor.
This is the 4th time I’ve sprained this ankle, which, along with my complete lack of talent and zero ballet-training, signals the end of my career as a ballerina. I am VERY worried that this injury means I will not able to wear all my very cute, but very unstable and impractical, spring and summer shoes. And I am also VERY concerned that I might fall through a time-traveling boulder and land in the Franklin Expedition and that I won’t be able to keep up when we decide to abandon the ice-locked boats and try to walk out through the tundra and I will end up being the real reason the whole expedition is lost. I’m very upset about this, friends!
So, um, ANYWAYS, I will be in the shop on Saturday if you want to stop by and we can chat about Star Trek: Voyager, the Northwest Passage and sensible footwear!
