I have found the perfect forever-dress, friends! This is just one of those dresses that just gets better and better the more I look it. The polka dots grabbed my attention first, but just look at how elegantly timeless it is with its bishop sleeves, the fitted waist and the top button details. The cut is totally flattering and not too vintagey. It's making a statement with its dots, but reminds you who's in charge because it's silk!
Seriously, friends, it's just raining Kate Spade in the shop these days!
So this gorgeous, vintage-looking silk shirt looks so simple, but it shines in its simplicity in a way that hard-working minimalism-style garments don't.
The beaded collar doesn't overpower the shirt, it actually gives it a certain sense of structure:
AND THEN there are wee buttons all the way down the back! This might be my favourite part, friends, as it hints that this top is a day-shirt; like, it really changes the entire tone of the shirt! Where you would expect to find a key-hole back or a contemporary exposed zipper, signaling that this a fancy shirt that takes itself very seriously, the buttons reveal it to be a more casual, despite the golden beaded collar, with a definite casual elegance that in the end is as unexpected as it is stunning!
You know what? I'm giving Sam Edelman a sincere slow-clap and approving head nod for these shoes. I generally like Sam Edelman, and I gravitated to these when I came in. They are in no way over-the-top, but all the classic touches have a twist. Check out the contrast-colour tassels gathered with a buckle that could stand alone as a necklace, and the brogue edging out to the top of the toe....
...and you have to see the sole! This is a super unexpected (but greatly appreciated!) grippey rubber sole!
Seriously, WHO CAN RESIST THIS?!?!
You know I love a good faux two-piece dress (with pockets!).....
....but the best part is, of course, the fish print!!
The delightfully soft, buttery baby blue leather of these shoes is not the most interesting thing; check out the sole one these ones!
Would you believe we have TWO of these nubby soled shoes in the shop? (And they are not even from the same consignor!)
This type of sole on a shoe has not been on my radar AT ALL. (I have an odd feeling that these might actually be from outer space and/or the future....and despite always being on the look-out for such things I am not at all prepared!!!)
Speaking of outer space.....SERIOUSLY!! Do we think this was the milky-way garment from the backroom from last time?
This comfy jersey dress also has a fun back:
It's surprisingly easy to get used to having Tiffany's in the shop! We have not one but TWO in right now: an RTT ring and a Loving Heart ring!
I know we are looking to spring time now (ANY MINUTE NOW), but I couldn't not share this gorgeous coat!
For the Desigual fans!
This beaded collar is also a nice touch!
From Edmonton's own Tressa Heckbert, it's such a treat to have Sessa Wearables in the shop. Plus, I've met her! Twice! She actually came into the shop!
Constructed from two different fabrics, there is a great sense of simplicity and uniqueness to this dress. Love it!
And hearts!
The backroom is BANANAS again friends! There is so much great stuff coming out these days, we've even had to overflow the backroom into our creepy, zombie-infested basement! Let's have a look, shall we?
I spy a Kate Spade dress!!
Little popsicles...with a bite taken out!
Purses!
Cranes on some sort of a jacket?
And get ready to fight me over this one!
I'll be in the shop all weekend, friends, so come in for a visit!
