Friends, without realizing it I have chosen zero adult things to share this week; everything is just so fun!
It’s only been a few days, but, friends, I really can’t believe this one is still there! If I wore t-shirts (which I don’t because I am a very old vampire and in my coven we only wear clothing that make us look like little French ladies, and when I wear a t-shirt I look like an old vampire who is a little French lady trying to dress how I *think* humans dress but it LOOKS ALL WRONG), then I would totally wear this one!
This shirt is from the same brand, Out of Print, as the cool Wuthering Heights t-shirt we saw a few weeks ago (and that is still in the shop, btw)(how is that possible?!); they donate to community development and literacy programmes!
Let’s look at another awesome t-shirt that I wish I could get away with wearing! This one is by the super cool Edmonton duo Salgado Fenwick!
Hey, I have a yannicdote about Salgado Fenwick! In December I was at Majesty and Friends in Highlands doing my holiday shopping (all gifts from me come from there, and if you ever want to get ME a present, you know where to go! Wink wink, yes?). Anyways, I had planned that my next stop after Majesty was going to be 124 street for Salgado Fenwick/Barking Buffalo Café, and as I was leaving, Julie, the owner of Majesty -who does not know who I am even though I talk about her ALL THE TIME (it’s fine, really, I have lots of friends)- looked me up and down and randomly said “Are you by any chance going to Salgado Fenwick?” Holy crapola, friends! She read my freaking mind!!! She is not a vampire, but clearly she has some super powers (other than designing cool pins!). Anyways, since I WAS going to Salgado Fenwick, she asked if I could deliver a card to them. It was a lovely Christmas card, and I felt so special to have been chosen for this important errand of communication between people who are WAY COOLER than me! At Salgado Fenwick they were completely baffled when I mumbled “I have something for you” and gave them the card while whispering “maybe can we be friends too?”. I felt so alive! (Even though technically I am undead)
Check out the geometry on these awesome Jeffrey Campbell shoes!! The smaller toe cap and the delicate strap make for a very feminine look, which is such a good counter to the significant platform; it’s hard to balance delicacy with what can sometimes be a too-chunky wedge. And notice how the footbed is actually flat here, so you’re getting height without wearing a heel. All these elements are working together here and I would so wear these is they fit me!
Friends, friends, FRIENNNNNNNNDDDDDSSSSSS!!!!! So many things!!!! OK, first of all, this is a ModCloth dress, which is so exciting. Of course I love the Peter Pan collar and those pleats! It’s like it’s trying to be a serious dress, but then…….
…….PINEAPPLES!!
Weeeeeeeee, friends this is a Kate Spade tote, but guess what it’s called? “Daycation off the Map”! Seriously!
The exterior is canvas with vinyl coating, and this one can for sure hold you mom-wallet and your knitting!
Is this one our special treat this week? I can’t choose just one! I love the colours and cruise-vacay pattern here (horizontal stripes, vertical stripes AND chevron!), and was attracted to what I think is silk (but the care tags have been removed), when I realized that this is a L.A.M.B dress! I love this one so much that I am willing to convince myself that I CAN wear a strapless dress (old vampire rules) because this one has a tie at the top for adjusting!
I feel like I recently went on and on about Canadian brand Brave and their super insider-baseball approach to sustainable fashion, but that’s because I find this type of brand that uses all salvaged materials (like Preloved, and the latest collection from local Sessa Wearbles) so fascinating! The creativity it takes, the pride of the unique finished object and, frankly, the undeniably high cool factor!
I mean, you know why I like this one…..
….right? It’s like the shirt version of that cool heart skirt from a few weeks ago!
Friends, we got a few of these fun, brushed cotton, girlish/vintagey dresses from the same consignor in the shop!
Awww, love this contrasting trim, and check out the tiny flower-shaped buttons!
So I just need to get winter-ey and serious for just one sec because this sweater (sorry!) is not just a regular sweater…..
….it has this awesome 80’s throwback rainbow tinsel speckles woven through it!! I love this! (Note: this sweater is very soft and is not made of actual scratchy 80’s tinsel)
From the men’s section:
This week in scarf:
Friends, can you believe we almost went for the whole blog without mentioning a vintage-curtain print?! Well, let’s make up for it! Coupled with the raw edge and the super light cotton, this one is giving me great vintage curtain vibes!
Here’s my pick from the sales section this week, and, friends, I know that you know that this is a total score of a deal: an Elie Tahari dress for $31!!!
So guess what, friends? We’re going to open on Mondays starting June 10th! (That’s not this Monday, but next Monday) I’ll be in the shop this Saturday if you want to come in for visit too. We can talk about books, t-shirts and the whole summer purse situation!
