Funnily enough, friends, Rod and I have been joking in the mornings (for the past TEN DAYS, ahem) “Should I wear my grey sweater today, or my black sweater today”, because, you know, I’m so sick of wearing sweaters!
Believe me, I am primed for this super cool sweater, which is neither grey nor black! It’s like a small gift from the sweater deities! This sweater is a breath of fresh air! I LOVE IT!
Plus, look at this little face! Pffffffftttt, hahahahaha!!!! Look how grumpy it is!! I love it and I can’t stop giggling!
And there is a reflection off one of the button-eyes, so it looks like it’s giving us the stink eye! Too funny!
But look again, friends! It took me an embarrassing amount of time looking at this (mostly giggling about the grumpy face) to realize that when you take in the whole of the sweater…..it’s actually a fox draped over the shoulders! Do you see it now? There is the head (hehe, grumpy) and there is its tail!
And the body goes across the back! As if this sweater wasn’t special enough! I looooooovvve this, friends!
Remember the feather skirt from last week? And remember how I now love feathers on garments? This time we get a black feather skirt!
Feathers!!
Ooooo, now this is special: an Eileen Fisher purse!
I love Eileen Fisher, so I’m always pleased to come across it in the shop, but I don’t think we’ve ever had an Eileen Fisher bag!
Friends, are you ready to see some really pretty things?? I mean, really, REALLY pretty things? First of all, this just plain PRETTY, powder blue with beige lace detailing dress!
And THEN, this gorgeous tiered silk dress! All those ruffles, and the satin sash! SO PRETTY!
Can you see all the ruffles? I love the ruffles!!!!!!
Plus, pretty hammered gold-not-gold earrings!
The special treat this week: a Mackage coat! And, friends, I know that you know that this is a total score!
Awwww, I feel like maybe I haven’t been featuring enough of the Oak and Fort lately. Sorry, friends! How about this? I love the casual fabric and dropped shoulders against the almost over-designed composition of this top.
It even has decorative, non-functional hardware!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, friends, actual blue suede shoes! Eek, I’m sorry, I had to say that. For reals, though, these shoes are adorable. They are geeky but feminine, and the -again-powder blue colour is -again- SO PRETTY!
Yes, I love a feathered skirt, but you know what else is cool and super interesting? A *fur* skirt! It’s fur-not-fur, friends, and it’s just one swath down the centre of this pencil skirt, which I think looks surprisingly flattering!
I guess I’m loving textured these days. Will I ever be able to go back to plain skirts?
I wasn’t going to bring this up, but, let’s face it, it has to get nice soon, right? How spring-y is this shift dress with all that cream and butterflies and flowers?! (And, hey, this is from Yumi, whose quirky designs I find super wearable, so I have a lot if it in my wardrobe)
Soon, yes?
Look at these gorgeous, dressy chukka boots from the mens section!
And then in the sale section (50% off, friends!) I found this awesome, faux two piece dress! Why is this still here?! It’s so cool!
Skeletons, friends!
Shall we peek in the backroom?
Birds!
Coat!
Plus these shoes, ready to go out!
A few weeks ago the amazing Sarah Hoyles came into the shop to take some pictures for the super cool website Walkable Edmonton. Her pictures were so good that I asked if I could use one for our profile pic on Instagram. Isn’t it gorgeous?!
Now, friends, you know I don’t like to brag, buuuuuuuuuut you also know I love saying…..I KNOW HER! I mean, you know, I met her that one time she came into Red Pony and I know her email address. And, sure it might have taken three requests before she answered my message, but I’m pretty sure that’s because we are SUCH CLOSE FRIENDS that she assumed that she had already passed the picture on to me, because we share EVERYTHING. Because we are friends. REAL FRIENDS.
That’s it for this week, friends! I’m in this Saturday, but I’ll be away the following Saturday (shop still open, even without me!), so if you have read an interesting article, started a new podcast or have a new purse that you are willing to dump out on the counter so that I can see the inside of your bag and what all it can hold and you don’t think it should wait until March, then be sure to pop in on Saturday!
