I was immediately drawn to this dress when I came in, friends! I love the vintage shape, navy is my new favourite colour (ok, this is dark blue, but when one is trying to convince oneself that one needs ANOTHER dress like this, we need not split hairs), and the brocade gives this dress solid, quality weight. Surprisingly, this is a Betsey Johnson dress! There is a simplicity here that I feel we are not used to seeing from a Betsey Johnson. No missed opportunities, friends: this dress has pockets!
I love the timeless brocade!
I'd say this week's extra special treat is these fierce, laser-cut Kate Spade high heels!
I love, love, LOVE this dress! It has a great classic shape, the black is elegant, but the eyelet pattern gives it a playful feel that keeps this dress casual. I think this dress is the perfect wear-to-everything summer dress!
And another easy summer dress!
I don't know, friends, but I just love this softy sweater! It is so squishy and light, you have to come in and pet it in real life!
If you're worried that those Kate Spade heels might be more of a sitting-shoe, then these great Steve Madden wedges might stack up more as a daily, summer-in-the-city shoe.
There are no tags on these ones, but judging by the sole I'd say these are brand new. Plus, can you see the little shoes through the texture of the sole here like a 3-D card from a cereal box? I love it!
Now, friends, I'm looking at this dress and I'm thinking "Mermaid Dress"! Yes?
This great Anna Sui dress reads 90's to me. Wear it with your white socks and your Doc Marten oxfords!
This beauty is from Edmonton's own Maggie Walt, who usually has a pop-up shop a couple of times a year. It's silk, but check out those contrasting, yet nicely matching, sleeves. Maggie sources alot her fabrics from Southeast Asian markets, and I wish I knew more about this piece! I bet it's a one-of-a-kind too!
I also bet that these little felted purses are one-of-a-kind and handmade!
This delicate and airy top is so feminine! I love this kind of fine cotton shirt, and the way that lacing panel across the top is so understated.
But it stands out from other "peasant shirts" with this unexpected, modern detail at the back!
You know I love me a good faux two-piece dress! The "skirt" on this one from chez Simons is unexpectedly pinstriped....horizontally (!) which gives it a bit of edginess!
OK, I am slightly mystified by this dress. It's super long, yet has a curved hem like a shirt-dress. It's silk (yay!), which is fancy, but it has sporty, casual cuffs on the sleeves. I love it because it is dramatic, but I'm going to need to see it on someone so I can figure it out!
For the Eileen Fisher lovers out there we have a whole bunch of Eileen Fisher pants right now. Here are two:
So, a couple days ago Rod came in and helped me move some stuff around in the shop. Surprise! I'll be in this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, so come and check it out and tell me what you think!
