Friends, I feel like we have been waiting so long to see this one! Remember this Theory coat that was waiting in the backroom a few weeks ago! To me Theory is great brand that real grown-ups wear, and it’s happening here with this super simple toggle coat that is somehow super sophisticated? This one is wool, which is awesome, and while I was looking at the Theory website to see how they make their magic grown-up-clothes potion, I stumbled upon this new ethical approach they are applying to their woolen goods! You know how I love knowing which side of the mountain the sheep are grazing on!
I’ll be honest with you here, friends, this blanket-shrug did not even register with me until I saw someone try it on and it looked stunning! It has great drape and drama, you are going to have to come in to try it on yourself; it looks incredible!
For the Desigual fans out there! I guess I didn’t even know that Desigual made boots, but if I was to imagine up what Desigual boots would look like, this is exactly what I would come up with!
The colour combo here is bang-on Desigual, and those mandalas are totally the kind of thing that we’d see on one of their coats or dress.
And they have a really sleek shape! Good call not going overboard with the sculpting of this boot.
And then thiiiiiiiisssssssssss one that we saw in the backroom too! It has pockets….
…and ladybugs!
Weeeeeeeeee! A vintage holiday sweater! Although this is just a side-note it is still worth mentioning that this sweater is wool!
The garlands on the trees are sequins!
I love pendants that have a raw/organic looking stone, and now we can get them on hair clips! How cool and unique is this set?! They’re, like, post-apocalyptic-chique!
We have a special Oak+Fort treat this week, friends. For some reason we have TWO of these flowey, midi, button skirts: one in olive and one in black!
AND THEN we also have two of these pants! Again, one pair in beige and one pair in black. Now, I may have self-diagnosed pant-confusion, but I think these pants are awesome! They are classy but different enough with that faux-wrap waist to not be boring.
The selection from the mens section this week: a Lululemon jacket! Complete with multiple secret pockets and probably a bunch of sporty details that go over my head.
This teeny, tiny cameo is 3-D (not flat) and super detailed. I’m pretty sure it is some sort of real stone, so, like a pro, I held it to my cheek to check. Unfortunately, after holding it to my face I realized that I couldn’t remember how this was supposed to reveal anything to me. Something about temperature change? The point, friends, is that I tried, but you are going to have to come in and have a look for yourself and then teach me what kind of test I’m supposed to be doing to determine what type of stone it is!
Dusty pink….and has pockets!
I don’t know what I love most here, friends! The colour and nubby fabric, that cool layered skirt design, the sculpted scoop collar! All of it is so cute! Plus it’s from one of our eco-conscious Canadian faves Dagg and Stacey!
A few weeks ago I was thinking about how I hadn’t seen my friend Ainsley for a long time, which lead me to thinking how long it’s been since I chatted with Micheline or Aliya or Ginette or Diana or Danielle….you get the snowball effect (I did not make those names up; these are all real people, and I KNOW THEM!). So I thought “if I was a real adult I would have a Christmas party”! I felt so proud of myself for coming up with this great strategie to both visit with my friends AND prove what a real grown-up I am; I could already see myself floating through my house in some angelic, gauzy maxi-dress while greeting friends with a bottle of champagne…. But then I realized that in order to have a party I would have to clean my bathroom. Ug, so I immediately scrapped my Christmas Party plan (I don’t have an angelic, gauzy maxi-dress anyways). But, I still wanted to see my friends, so instead I invited them all Red Pony (where Rod cleans the bathroom!) for an evening of catching up and eating soft cheeses! I had meant to take pictures as proof that I did not make this whole story up, but I was so busy chatting that I forgot. I did take pics of the mess afterwards, though!
(No worries about the mess, friends, when you love something it’s not that big of a deal!) Thanks to all my friends who came out! (If you also don’t want to have to clean your bathroom to host a party for your friends, you are welcome to come do it at the shop! That way I can pretend all your friends are all my friends!)
I’ll be in the shop on Saturday, so come in and we can catch up too!
