So, friends, there is something so charming to me about this type of boxy, cropped sweater. I find it gamine from the fit: it simultaneously looks like it’s too big -and you have to grow into it- and too small from the crop of the sleeve and body -as if you have outgrown it! But I love different, awkward things like that! This one happens to be from our departed friends at Noul.
Hello, more cropped sleeves! On a jacket, because that is so practical? Kidding, it’s absolutely adorable on this plaid jacket!
Weeeeeeeeeee! It’s the Frye boots we saw in the backroom last week! These boots are AMAZING. More slick than the traditional Veronica or Campus boot, this is the Melissa boot! Elegant polished leather with a very handy side zip.
Lovingly cared for and in amazing shape, and they’ve been resoled with a rubber bottom. Since the upper shows no sign of wear, and you would have to really wear your Fryes to death to need a new sole, I assume this addition is to make them more stable on the ice. Which is actually practical!
If you liked the French-label, vintage skirt that we had on our Instagram, then you might also love this one. Not vintage at all, but it totally has the same shape and feel as the French vintage one. This one is partially linen, but has some solid weight to it. And it has pockets, which the vintage one from Instagram did. not.
Ok, this week’s special treat is a 3.1. Phillip Lim skirt!!! It has a lace overlay in a cool “avocado” pattern, with gold skirting underneath. I mean….like….you know? Why am I so sweaty all of a sudden?
This felted blanket scarf is so crazy, friends! It has these monster tendrils that look like they are from some mysterious sea creature or a character from an Octavia Butler novel.
But this scarf is GINORMOUS, and the monster fringe is actually appropriately proportional to the rest of the scarf. I totally love this one. Keep being you, giant monster scarf!
And speaking of keep-being-you: keep being you, Oak+Fort! You want to leave the raw edges on the sleeve hole of this t-shirt dress? You go ahead, we love you just as you are!
And from our friends just a short hop down the avenue on Whyte (where we are now too!) at Workhall, an easy slouch sweater!
Hey, wait, what? Yes, friends, we have TWO pairs of Frye booties in the shop! (I appear to have a real sweat problem suddenly) I love the soft, weathered-leather look of these ones!
MORE Noul! Ok, I mave have been calling this a “bathrobe” unconsciously in my head, but I promise it will not look like that when you put it on!
And here’s the cool jaguar necklace from the backroom last week!
I can’t resist sharing this one with you, friends, because I saw someone try it on and it looked so mod, and the slate-orange (I just made that up, but isn’t it clever?) colour is so different!
And I just couldn’t resist this one, either! I love the unapologetic glamour of a muppet-fur!
I’ll be in on Saturday, so pop in for a chat after you’ve gone to the deli!
