Ooooo, it's a bit of a silk party this week, friends, and you know how I love a luxurious natural fibre! Oh, yeah, and also a vintage Chanel, nbd. Ha!
First let's start with the eye-poppers! This dress comes to us all the way from Portland. I love the dusty, black and grey floral, and friends who are busty will appreciate the extra panel in the halter top!
Designed and made in Vancouver by Sweet Chemise, this dress ("The Elizabeth") is still sporting its tag from our friends at [Kelly Wollf+] C'est Sera off Whyte. Boat neck and three-quarter length sleeves...so classically sublime!
We've seen a version of these before, I believe, but I still love this cheeky nod to chorus shoes by Camper. And these ones are purple!
The 2017 version of this shoe ("The Beth") has a straight up square heel. These ones in the shop have a more geometric hexagon heel, which I find adorable:
Always a treat to come across something from one of our local faves, Cinder+Smoke! (Janna is at the City Market on 104 Street on Saturdays. Go see her!)
This slightly transparent Lululemon jacket:
Super easy, throw-it-on Lauren Conrad dress:
I do love a neutral, no-nonsense espadrille:
OK, so here it is: the vintage Chanel skirt! This nubby tweed, a-line skirt may look heavy, but it's actually linen with a silk lining. A perfect spring skirt!
Yes, please!
And in case you missed it on the belt loop:
This lovely Cynthia Rowley tunic (silk!) is perfect for my friend Aliya (and your elegant friend who loves understated yet chique tunics and always looks effortlessly put-together....everyone has a friend like that, right?)
Mustard yellow, the wall-paper of my heart! From Anthropologie, scoop neck and adorable dots, also silk...
...And here is its sister, a lovely silk wrap dress:
Let's wrap up the silky good times with an unexpected silk find from Zara:
But speaking of unexpected, how about this Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis patent leather purse?! (Ug, friends, I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures of the inside! I don't know what I was thinking! Hopefully you trust me that this one is real, will fit you gigantic mom-wallet and also comes with its dust bag).
A light-weight spring cocoon coat from Oak+Fort:
If this one is still in the shop next time I come in, it's mine!
So who came into the shop on Saturday while I was there? Oh, only Edmonton's Poet Laureate, Pierrette Requier! As always, I managed to say *nothing* creative or intelligent to her. She picked out a great dress for her final reading, and explained in the most charming way how she was so deep into the world of the poem that she had been composing at Upper Crust next door that she completely forgot to pay for her lunch! (No worries, friends, she zipped back over to pay, and everyone had a laugh about it!). My witty contribution to this conversation? "Mmmm, they have good coffee there". Arg.
