So this week I came across two items that each had such a unique story to them that they each earned a shot at the "Sustainability Award" (I totally made that up) this week.
First up: this awesome Ace & Jig dress. Organic fibers, ethically made in India (where the workers get free child-care and are fed organic produce at mealtimes!), and diverted from the landfill....this is one conscious garment!
Ace & Jig dress; Size L; $62
Equaly deserving of the made-up "Sustainability Award", but for very different reasons is this awesome tunic dress:
Heart Felt top; Size M; $36
What's so amazing about this top, you ask? This, my friend....
Ta-dah!
Enough said!
Ok, enough sustainability-preaching (also a totally made-up term), let's just go straight to the fashion candy starting with this awesome shirt dress by Bluebird Shirting:
Bluebird Shirting; Size L; $46
Here is the shirt-dress's companion, the lovely yellow HD in Paris top:
HD in Paris top; Size S/M; $48
How awesome is this Marc Jacobs number?
Marc by Marc Jacobs; Size S; $56
These faux-theater style Camper shoes totally get the enthusiastic-slow-clap-and-approving-head-nod...
Camper shoes; Size 6.5; $48
(*Not your size? You can find Campers at Gravity Pope.....special, sparkley karma for supporting local, independent stores!)
I actually don't wear pants (long story for another day!) but these Alice+Olivia pants totally made me think of my friend Kate, and they are awesome:
Alice+Olivia pants; Size 4; $48
So by now you've all figured out that I have a huge soft spot for natural fibers, but most of all: I love me some cashmere! Hello, darlings.....
JCrew cashmere sweathers (NWT, yo!); Size M, $40 each
Not to be out-shined by cashmere as an awesome, natural fiber is SILK. This swooshy Tony Cohen beauty is the perfect every-wedding-and-graduation-this-summer dress.
Tony Cohen dress; Size 8; $68
Over in the Men's section (Yes! We have a great men's section too!), were these classic Clarks:
Brown Clarks: Size 8.5; $62. Black Clarks: Size 9; $68
And to ensure Canadian Content, this awesome dress from local designer Nicole Campre, which I immediately started calling "The Carrie Bradshaw Dress". You know why.
Campre dress: Size M; $48
(*You can find more Campre designs at WORKHALL....special, sparkly karma for supporting local, independent stores!)
Now, hold on to your pants....do you know what this is?
Stronger than all the rest....
It's only an ASTRO-BOY HOODIE!
Astro-Boy hoodie: Size S/M; $36
Complete with pocket and zipper Astro-Boy details to do an '80s childhood justice:
Zipper....
...and Astro-Boy head detailing on the pockets!
Yup. And now you too can go off to spend half an hour watching old Astro-Boy videos on YouTube.
