I tried this kerchief cardigan from Urban Outfitters on for you, friends, and not only was it super cozy....it also made me look TALLER for some reason!
Check out this super funky coat by Nick and Mo! I love the asymmetrical cut, the appliqued shoulder and waist trim, the visible seams....
....and the mismatched buttons!
Oh, and of course I love their faux-embroidered tag:
From far away these just look like great booties, but they're Uggs!
True to Ugg form, the inner-sole is shearling! As a lover of wool and natural fibres I love this feature of Uggs. However, with all the talk about sustainability and environmental consciousness I would like to see Ugg do better at explaining wear their materials, specifically the sheep-skin, comes from. (Remember last week the Ibex manufacturing website that explained everything from what the sheep eat, where they live to what the sheep do throughout the year?!). So for this boot let's talk about why sheep-skin is great: it's a natural fibre, moisture-wicking, and helps regulate temperature!
Mmmm, speaking of some of my favourite natural fibres, this super soft blue darling is made of cashmere (which comes from goats), Angora fibre (which comes from rabbits -not to be confused with mohair which comes from Angora goats) and lambswool (which comes from the very first first shearing of a wee sheep):
I'm counting four sweaters saved from the landfill to make this lovely one-of-a-kind, A-line cardi from hardworking Canadian brand Preloved:
And there is even a contrasting patch in the lining where the pocket is! Nice touch!
Ah, a red wool coat! The jewel of every consignment-aficionado's crown!
Elegant Nine West booties:
Friends, we are swimming in Lululemon at the shop right now! We have a bunch of new Lulu knits, as well as a great cross-section of the traditional scuba hoodies. (Psst: the navy blue one, which has a purple floral lining, is in our sale section....so it's 50% off!)
I comfy flannel shirt from another one of our Canadian west-coast faves Dace:
This fuzzy cowl is a super rich, deep blue colour, and it is just luscious!
I'm really into these crop-length, boxy blouses these days. This silk Banana Republic top does not fit me (boo) but it might fit you!
Don't be fooled by the name, this upscale brand is secretly not French. Kookaï is actually an Australian brand heavily influenced by chique Paris fashion....and we have TWO adorable Kookaï boleros in the shop!
You know, I'm really impressed with what Fossil is putting out for shoes! We had a pair of great flats in the shop last week, and this week these open-toe booties which, is it the patchwork leather or the laces, have something about them that is far more interesting than some of the regular open-toe booties that have been around lately.
I just couldn't resist these green pants from Abercrombie & Fitch. You would think that green would put these at risk of looking constumey or clownish, but the deep emerald is actually unexpectedly elegant for a pair of pants!
And a yellow Topshop knit to go with your green pants!
These Gravity Pope shoes are brand new! Like, I think this photo was the first time they had set foot(!) outside!
Remember in season 1 of Friends when Marcel the monkey poops in Monica's shoe, described as "those Amish ones you think go with everything"? Ha! These actually look nothing like Monica's "Amish ones", but that phrase just popped into my head when I was trying to figure out how to dramatically describe these Gravity Pope heels.
Some casual, sparkly Skecher booties.....and hey! New socks! And merino wool mittens! And merino hats!
I pulled these cuffs out of the backroom (not tagged yet, sorry!) because they are so cool! I love, love, LOVE the colour.
Friends, a confession: when I was hanging the pictures of the ponies back up in the entrance after taking the photos, I dropped the wooden horse head and it broke a little! Eeeeek!
