Hello there! Allow me to introduce myself (if we haven’t yet been). My name is Kennedy, I’m the one that occasionally floods your insta stories with my not-so-knowledgable thoughts on fashion, is always wearing something cropped, baggy and from the 80’s, oh, and I also work at the Red Pony.
Yannick has graciously...let me say it one more time...GRACIOUSLY, allowed me to guest write the blog this week and next. Although, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, next week might be pending. I have some pretty big shoes to fill, and I most certainly won’t do them justice.
*Takes a deep breath, crosses fingers, whispers ‘please like me’* Okay here we go…
Starting things out with the sweetest, cutest, did I say sweetest? polka dot jumper ever. Yes, it even has a bow in the front to layer the icing on even thicker.
And, of course, the cherry on top: a cutout in the back. Do yourself a favour - buy this, wear it to every backyard summer party you still can and make everyone drool over you.
Changing pace here...stay with me…
Something about this shirt gives me nostalgia for when I was (not) a ski mom in the 80’s, vacationing with my family in the Swiss Alps. Wearing high waisted fluorescent ski pants, sipping hot cocoa *cough* and Baileys.
Clothes do weird things to my brain, people. Anyways, this is a staple piece for any modern or vintage wardrobe out there. It just goes with everything ie: the Swiss Alps.
Sticking with the vintage theme here…
I had mixed feelings when I saw this at first. And then I reaalllly looked and imagined the darlingest vintage pumps, thrown together with a rugged denim jacket and was like – yes.
Love the delicate detail here and don’t even get me started on that classic rose bow. It’s just begging for a little modern ruggedness to balance it out; can we get a chunky sneaker in here? Honey...you can get a chunky sneaker in anywhere.
And these jeans are no exception…
If you’re familiar with FRAME Denim, you just dropped your phone and are running out the door without pants on. I’m sorry, but I’m freaking out. These jeans, in this condition, at that price – it’s a sin, a crime, a flippin’ miracle. And lucky for you, they don’t fit me.
Folk Fest is calling and so is this long boho knit vest thing.
Oof. I’m obsessed. It ties in a deep V at the bust and then falls in separate sheets of fabric that are begging you to twirl in the most hippy, folky, fairy way.
You know I’m here for the detail stitching.
More psychedelic hippy things happening here.
The bell sleeves! The I-feel-nauseous-in-a-good-way pattern! (Insert all the heart eye emojis.)
Leaving you all with some sunshine, hoping the rest of summer catches on and has some mercy on our sad winter souls.
You know that feeling when you do something crazy and you’re like ‘what the heck just happened’? That’s how I’m feeling about this whole thing right now. But I had fun! And that’s all that matters, right? No Kennedy...I think people actually wanted to be inspired, provoked and maybe feel like this was a good use of their time. Ohhhh I get it now...well there’s always next time...right Yannick?
Ta ta for now, friends (are we at a place where I can call you that?). Chat soon.
