Friends, although I don’t go out to x-mas parties and the like -because it would really cut into my knitting and TV watching time (those British murder-mysteries aren’t going to solve themselves!)- I do like to look at party dresses and pretend that I am cool and have parties to go to where I can wear them. (Friends, I am totally kidding….of course I know I am a super cool person!). I did try this floral red one on for you -and maybe also pretended to be you- and, good news, it has pockets!
Here are the cousins of those gorgeous maroon bow shoes we saw last week! We peaked this sparkly-champagne flats in the backroom a couple of weeks ago, and they are exactly what we thought they would be: sparkly-champagne flats!
When I first saw this one I didn’t realize that it was a Lululemon top! I’ll be honest, friends, I would totally wear this with a poofy skirt and call it a blouse! I love the cactus print….
….and check out how it’s photo-realistic….and looks like it’s been filtered!
Since it is actual athletic wear, the back is laser-cut for [insert science-y explanation relating to sports… I’m just here for the cacti!].
I love the dramatic collar and shape of this coat, but I’m realizing now that what I’m drawn to the most here is the colour combo; this is the type of “natural” pallet I love for knitting projects! I think it’s also the type of sophisticated pallet we see in minimalist fashion.
Beautiful moto boots from eco-sensitive Brako:
Friends, you may not realize it, but what you are looking at is from the mens section, and it’s velvet! VELVET!!!
As if a velvet jacket isn’t enough, check out the slightly exaggerated peak lapel! The lapel is not velvet, it’s a contrasting satin fabric, which, let’s face it, makes this jacket even cooler!
And then there’s the back:
From Rod West and Co (haha, we’re all in on the joke now, right?), this one is brand new! The red is the stand out, but the lovely crepe and simple design make it an easy wear for all your parties. (Could also be worn while sitting on the couch, eating pretzels and chocolate chips and watching a sci-fi teen drama!)
Aaaaaaaah, friends, this necklace is such a work of art! I love the hand-made, playful look of the petals, and the use of different coloured metals gives it great dimension. This is the type of piece that lights up the face! I can’t stop looking at it!
Weeeeeeeeeeeee, a mustard yellow dress! Mustard yellow, friends, mustard yellow!
These Gravity Pope boots were flying under the radar in the shop, just sitting there being all simple, not drawing attention to themselves. Check out the excellent use of unexpected diagonal stitched leather on the uppers and how it almost looks like a spiral.
Just sitting here being lovely!
Even after the big coat sale last week, out coat section is busting! This one is an easy-to-wear, packable, lightweight down coat. The zippers are gold to add that touch of glamour!
OK, one more from the mens section: check out this bespoke shirt!
I love the winged collar! And check out the 3 different fabrics used on this one!
Mysteriously, we have 3 of these shirts! And they are brand new!
From the backroom this week: a spaceship and astronaut dress!
And ladybugs!!
I’ll be in on Saturday, friends, so if you didn’t get the Rod West & Co joke, you can come in and I’ll explain. Then I will also share with you how to eat pretzels and chocolate chips by perching one chocolate chip on each pretzel section!
I wrote this at The Woodrack Café, another independent, locally {woman} owned business (where they put sprinkles of my latté because it’s my birthday!). When we support independent businesses we make an immediate positive impact on real human beings in our community.
