Friends, even just hanging there between all the other tops, I immediately gravitated to this one! First of all, I love seeing orange on a garment; it’s so unexpected, especially paired with royal blue here. Although the print is a bold floral, this top does not read to me as trying too hard to be different. And the most awesome part of this print as a whole? It’s a vintage wallpaper-curtain print! I love this sooooooo much!
Hello, I’m a vintage curtain! Or maybe I’m a very funky couch?
Our very special treat this week is a pair of walk-by-them-ten-times-before-you-realize-how-awesome-they-are Rag and Bone boots!! And in a way I was not surprised, because this type of subtle/casual/lived-in vibe is typical of Rag and Bone.
I guess this dress would also make a cool vintage couch (maybe this is going to be my new thing?) because of its cool print and also the fact that it’s velvet! Alternately, it could also be a party dress….
….with this lovely plunge in the back!
Or wear a sequin skirt! (This one has a friendly elastic waistband!)
The opposite of subtle Rag and Bone booties are blue Fluevog boots! From the limited Urban Angel family, these are the Takami boot. These are a bit more sporty than what we usually see in Fluevogs, and other than being an adorable shade of blue, the cool thing about these boots is that they don’t have a tongue! Gah!
Leaving this part of the shoe totally works on this boot, though!
As always, the Urban Angel’s have a special Fluevog message for you:
Not an ordinary sweatshirt! I love the structured shape, and I’m thinking this should be worn with a white collared shirt underneath!
From Victoria, with the awesome brand name Gwen Delicious (I KNOW! Totally going on the list of my fave brand names, along with Allison Wonderland and Gentle Fawn), this pendant is actually made to look like a vintage stamp!
A stamp of what, you ask?
A teeny, tiny bee!!!! Friends, I absolutely love jewelry with a secret, like a hidden engraving or a camouflaged locket. As this hangs no one would know it has a bee imprint on it; it’ll be your special secret to share with those who are worthy and/or those who give you a compliment!
Don’t ask me why, but I really like this granny cardigan! There is something timeless about it. This is a new garment though, and it’s made of organic cotton!
A plaid, flannel shirt!
This one flew under my radar, and shame on me for almost missing out! This one was handmade in Montreal under the label F-Éve, who I can’t seem to find a trace of now.
And it comes with a pin from Edmonton’s own [mostly] girl band Switches! Weeeeee! I know them!!!! Well, ok, I mean, I know someone who knows them. Someone who knows ALL their first names and could tell me them if I asked. So ANYWAYS, did this bag just get that much cooler OR WHAT?!
Finished off with a cute bow in the back (which actually I thought was the front at first because it’s so cute):
And over in the mens section, you have to come check this out for real, friends, because the colour is this amazing blue/green. Plus, it’s wool and it’s brand new! (The mens’ section is rocking these days, friends! I even found an Oak+Fort mens’ sweater in there!)
But speaking of Oak+Fort…
In the back room I found these sparkly shoes, and their patent-leather-with-bow cousin! I don’t know which one is cuter! (I think these are a size 9, so get ready Size Nines!)
And here’s the exciting thing that’s happening starting tomorrow:
As always, I’ll be in on Saturday. Come pick up a coat and have a chat!
