Friends, there so many unexpected treats in the shop right now! Lots of Can-con, a bunch from Edmonton faves and...Campers (yes, PLURAL)!!
It's not often that we have Fly London in the shop, so at first, from far away, I assumed that these were Miz Mooz (which would also have been awesome, but, you know, a different kind of awesome). I gasped when I discovered my rookie mistake! Fly London's design elements are dramatic yet always sophisticated....these boots are GORGEOUS!
Speaking of sophisticated and dramatic, this flowey, button-less trench:
If you get a little chilly, wrap up in this wool scarf from Aritzia:
From our friends across the river on 124 st at Salgado Fenwick, this raglan with Salgado Fenwick's own re-imagined, and iconic, Edmonton Crest! (Psst, they also make them with a Calgary Crest...go to their shop and get one for your sister who lives in Calgary!)
These Campers fit me. I'm trying not to think about it.
Here's the hoodie we saw peeking out of the backroom last week!
Sadley, I am not allowed to have any hoodies (due to the whole unfortunate "hoodie graveyard" that appeared in my the top of my closet...I don't know how they all got there, OK?!), but I spent a long time looking at all the different little houses on this hoodie. It's mesmerizing and whimsical!
I feel like we saw this skirt in beige in the spring (?), but I can't not mention when we have beloved Canadian Preloved in the shop!
Although the pattern is the same, every Preloved item is one-of-a-kind, as each are made from reclaimed fabrics. They make the garments up right there in the warehouse where all the discarded material is sent to die/be reborn!
So Preloved landed themselves a great (and apt!) name, but you know which other Canadian brand has a great name? Allison Wonderland!! Designer Allison Smith also tries to incorporate re-used materials (although I'm not sure if I'm seeing any of that on this dress). This dress is a classic, and I love the details like the little pockets and épaulettes!
Didn't I tell you? TWO pairs of Campers in the shop at the same time! (These ones do not fit me, so enjoy with glee!)
Seriously, friends, we seem to have a lot of Cinder+Smoke in the shop right now. Designer Janna Stewart is taking a bit of a break, so get your fix here!
This one is familiar to me too...didn't we see this one in another colour lately? (Am I losing my mind??)
Canadian SnoFlake is no longer in existence (sniff), but this lovey linen blazer lives on!
I love the little bow! Cute, but not too sweet!
And now for a very, VERY special treat....distressed, jockey cuff and even NWT: Rag & Bone!!!
And one last treat of a different kind....
...a lopapeysa!!! I'm super geeky about the Icelandic knits; like, even my knitting friends kinda raise their eyebrows. This sweater is made of lopi (the wool produced by the magical sheep of Iceland) and features the traditional yoke of the lopapeysa in four colours:
One day I will get my hands on enough of lopi (and talent!) to make one of these beauties!
Mark your calendars, friends: I will be at Red Pony this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. As always, come by and say hi; we can swoon together over the Fly London boots, the Rage&Bone pants, and the lopi sweater while convincing ourselves that we really do need another pair of Camper boots in our wardrobes!
