This was not on purpose, but nearly every dress I chose this week is green! All except for this one, fresh from Hawaii (for real: made in Hawaii!), it is perfect summer barbecue dress!
These lovely bird earrings jumped out at me right away! I love tiny, whimsical birds, and turquoise is one of my favourite stones!
This sherbet-coloured tank-top is much more feminine and elegant than a basic tank top.....
...plus it has a great tulip back!
Stunning cuff bracelet:
Check out the laser cut details on this lovely Oak+Fort maxi dress:
It's Miz Mooz central in the shop these days! These ones may look like a sweet mary-jane, but when they are on a foot they look totally fierce! I think it's the shape of the heel and the elastic-bundle strap that give them a more grown-up, edgey look.
I've loved Skunkfunk for years because their pieces really feel like designs you've never seen elsewhere. And I feel like I can love them even MORE now that I've seen their holistic approach to sustainability: everything from working with suppliers and manufacturers that favour the hiring and empowering of women, to the packaging -made of biodegradable corn-starch- used for shipping and sales!
A Red Pony friend who saw these amazing bee earrings in the shop said she has the same ones and that they were a gift from Montreal (but she did not know the designer's name). They are made of brushed, industrial metal, which makes them feel like little tiny sculptures!
Colourful, yet still somehow understated skirt from Anthropologie:
Seriously, a Miz Mooz party!
Is there anything that this dress is NOT perfect for? Brunch, spring school concert, wedding, biking home with your baguette!
Boden is another brand that unexpectedly has a super comprehensive sustainability programme! They are transparent about where their garments are made, actively engage in programmes that support health-care for women working in factories, and they even have some gadget that allows them to connect with workers in real-time to asses their actual working conditions. Friends, I'm just so pleased that more and more companies are really taking the time to think about these things and implement new initiatives! Also, cute, stripey flats!
Great, simple Nicole MIller dress:
You know, you don't need to have an m-name to wear this sterling-silver necklace; you could just wear this necklace and be mysterious about what the "m" stands for!
It's orange, it's asymetrical, it has birds/feathers on it...I love everything that's happening here!
Don't you think that if Ikea made jewelry, it would look like these green earrings? The red pendant is reversible (the other side is cream coloured with silver designs). And can you see the hummingbird on the bottom pendant?
Pristine white loafers!
Before heading to the shop on Sunday, I went out for brunch with the in-laws to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. As it was one of those rare occasions when I would not have to be carrying an individual water bottle for EVERY member of my family in a huge tote, I broke out my small vintage Coach purse. Later on, in the shop, another Red Pony friend came in with her own Coach purse of the same vintage (twist clasp! Unfinished leather interior!)! We geeked out about how great these purses are, and then it was only natural to take a picture of the cousin-purses together!
